Eucharistic Ministers (EMHC): An extraordinary minister of Holy Communion in the Catholic Church is, under the Code of Canon Law, “an acolyte, or another of Christ’s faithful deputed”, in certain circumstances, to distribute Holy Communion. The term “extraordinary” distinguishes such a person from the ordinary (normal, regular) minister of Holy Communion, namely a bishop, priest or deacon.

Lectors: In the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church, the term “lector” or “reader” can mean someone who in a particular liturgy is assigned to read a Biblical text other than the Gospel. (Reading the Gospel at Mass is reserved specifically to the deacon or, in his absence, to the priest.) But it also has the more specific meaning of a person who has been “instituted” as a lector or reader, and is such even when not assigned to read in a specific liturgy.

Altar Servers: An altar server is a lay assistant to a member of the clergy during a Mass. An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as fetching and carrying, ringing the altar bell and so on.
